Jesus Christ
To Know Him - To Make Him Known
For the Glory of God - For the Joy of All Peoples

We stress the teaching-preaching ministry of gifted men of the church, with the goal to teach every believer the Word of God that he or she may become spiritually mature in Christ. (Ephesians 4:12-16)· We seek to follow New Testament principles with Christ Himself as the Head of this local body of believers. The body is led by the Holy Spirit through elders, with the Holy Scriptures as our only written guide.

We Celebrate the Lord's Supper Service Weekly

Glorifying in the cross of our Lord Jesus is a wonderful privilege we enjoy each week. At the inaugural Lord's Supper the Lord Jesus Christ commanded that we "do this in remembrance of Me" (Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-25; Luke 22:19,20; Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26). We at Parker Hills Bible Fellowship believe it to be very important to take time each week to remember the Lord.

The meeting is an open orderly meeting that is filled with opportunity for the believer to worship, thank, praise and remember our Lord, His Person, and His work. We sing, pray, and share from Scripture (Ephesians 5:18-20). Being directed by the Holy Spirit, the elders ask each to come with a prepared heart. The content and direction of the meeting are Christ centered. We ask that the remarks and songs be focused on the Person, work, and character of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thus, all remarks would then be made as believer-priests directing our thanksgiving, worship, and praise to the Lamb that is worthy. Remembrance at the Lord's Supper is an affectionate calling to mind of all that the Lord did for us. As we participate in the Lord's Supper, we are to remember that

  • The bread symbolizes that the body of Christ was broken for us (Matthew 26:26). His death on the cross was the required payment for our sins past, present and future.
  • The wine reminds us of the blood of Christ that was shed on the cross for us. Scripture describes His blood as that of a lamb unblemished and spotless (1 Peter 1:19; 1 John 1:7).

Scripture also warns us that on preparation for the Lord's Supper there is a place for self-examination and confession of sins. It is also clear that the partaking of the bread and the cup is for believers only (1 Corinthians 11:23-24). Our prayer is that this will be a celebration of remembrance for all believers in which our Lord is glorified. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact us.
